When I first went and lived in Hong Kong it was 1995. The previous year I had broken up with my long term girlfriend of 5 years whom I really thought I would marry and live with forever. To say I was heartbroken would be an understatement. I was in a new expensive city with a low paid job and no friends, but importantly a fresh new slate. I don’t recall where it came from but I do remember writing one day on a piece of A4 paper in big bold letters “whatever you can dream you can achieve” and sticking it to the side of the kitchen table where I would see it everyday.
That piece of paper stayed stuck there until the time I moved out. I believe that no matter what age you are it is never too late to dream, and never to late to pursue that dream. If you can dream it then you can achieve it.
Today as I was working out at the gym I heard an amazing song and wrote down the title “City of Angels”. I looked it up on Youtube and right away it took me back to that day in Hong Kong when I focused on my dreams. You can see the song below.
